May 19 –National Assembly abolished the nobility

All privileges to the nobility were abolished. Titles like knight, duke, etc. were also withdrawn. 

One could only take the real name from his family. Wearing a coat of arms or livery was not permitted. This rule was only applicable to the citizens of France.
